The Location
Prapoutel les 7 Laux-Alpes is appealingly named after the seven high altitude crystal clear lakes around this area. Situated in the Gresivaudan Valley, Prapoutel has stunning views of the Chartreuse, Vercons and Bouges mountains as well as the Belledone peaks. The resort is at an altitude of between 1350 and 2400 metres and it is located in the ski domain of Prapoutel Pipay le Pleynet, close to the resorts of Alpe D’Huez, les Deux Alpes and Chamrousse. There are more than 120km of slopes available for skiers and boarders of all levels to enjoy, and there is the added bonus of it having one of the best freestyle parks in France. The ski area is used as a training ground for the ski teams of the prestigious Grenoble University and it is renowned for the practise of new kinds of winter sports such as freestyle and half pipe.
The varied scenery of the resort and ski area means that it is great for a wide variety of winter sports such as cross country skiing, snow shoe walking, hikes and family outings as well as snowboarding and downhill skiing. There have also been recent improvements made to the ski lifts making the journey up to the top much more enjoyable! Furthermore the snow equipment such as the snow cannons has been modernised, guaranteeing great snow all season. The summer brings just as many activities to keep the family entertained such as walking, cycling and climbing and the views are equally as breathtaking as during the winter months.
There are the usual amenities on site such as shops, bars and restaurants including two at altitude and also a cinema and nightclub.
